Role Overview
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development & Sales Executive responsible for driving new business growth through strategic research, prospecting, outreach, and client relationship development. This role focuses on understanding potential client needs, gathering market intelligence, securing meetings, delivering compelling service presentations, and fostering long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, disciplined in follow-up, skilled at turning information into revenue-generating conversations, and able to represent the company in both virtual and in-person client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development & Market Research
- Build and maintain a structured sales pipeline using collected and researched data.
- Conduct in-depth research via LinkedIn, company websites, Google, and other platforms to identify potential client needs and opportunities.
- Identify key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Gather relevant company intelligence including business priorities, hiring trends, expansion plans, and industry positioning.
Database Creation & Management
- Develop, organize, and continuously update a high-quality prospect database.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, follow-ups, and engagement status in CRM systems.
- Segment prospects strategically to support personalized outreach efforts.
Prospecting, Outreach & Client Engagement
- Initiate contact through calls, emails, LinkedIn messaging, and other communication channels.
- Craft tailored outreach messages based on research and identified client needs.
- Execute structured follow-up strategies to nurture prospects and secure meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients to foster trust, loyalty, and repeat opportunities.
- Overcome objections and position the company’s services effectively.
Meeting Generation, Presentations & Client Interaction
- Secure qualified appointments with decision-makers.
- Prepare and deliver customized presentations aligned with prospect needs.
- Present company services in a consultative and value-driven manner.
- Support the sales cycle from initial contact through opportunity development.
- Participate in occasional travel or client visits, as needed, to strengthen relationships and support business development efforts.
Performance & Reporting
- Track pipeline metrics, outreach effectiveness, and conversion rates.
- Meet or exceed monthly meeting-setting and revenue targets.
- Provide feedback on market trends and competitive insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in building sales pipelines, securing meetings, and converting opportunities into revenue.
- Two (2+) years of experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in LinkedIn Sales Navigator and online research tools.
- Experience building and managing prospect databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong follow-up discipline.
- Comfortable conducting presentations and engaging with senior-level professionals.
- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings as needed.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or a similar client-facing role will be considered.
